Freestyle Session World Finals 2015 Los Angeles, California
The Freestyle Session World Finals ’15 took place on November 7th and 8th, 2015 at the La Boom Nightclub in Huntington Park, California as part of the 2015 Pro Breaking Tour’s Champions Series. The event was organized by Cros1 in conjunction with Grassroots Productions and paid $60,000 in cash and prizes, with the 1-on-1 winner earning a spot in this year’s Undisputed battle in France. A panel of five judged the Open 1-on-1, and Open 3-on-3 formats. There were special performances by TeamBackPack, MC Supernatural, Zamounda, Loaf Muzik, Chris Rivers, and a Live Paint Set by Ricardo Arts. There was a photo exhibit by Joe Conzo “Born in the Bronx.” The event was hosted by Cros1 along with Ivan the Urban Action Figure and the DJs for the battles were Lean Rock, Bles One, Renegade, Charlie Rock, Kogataroo, Abel, Element, Ervin Arana, Mane One and kidRIZ.

Freestyle Session has always been a gathering of the worldwide bboy and bgirl community and this year was no different. There were familiar faces from many scenes, crossing multiple generations, all getting down together with a vibe like no other. BBoys and BGirls showed up from all corners of the globe to compete at this year’s World Finals event all hoping to grab a spot in the top 32 bracket. With a payout at the top 32 level, all the breakers had incentive to give it their all in hopes to advance and with a steady flow of Monster Energy, the dancers had no trouble bringing their A-game. It was one of the most anticipated events of the year and now that the dust has cleared, we have our champions from the Freestyle Session World Finals, Pro Breaking Tour, Champions Series event.
In the 1-on-1 battle, Victor took first place over Kleju; Moy and Morris were semifinalists; Gravity, El Nino, Lancer and Fleau were quarterfinalists; Issei, Sunni, Yarko, Robin, Cheerito, Thomas, Kid Columbia and Yuri were round of 16 qualifiers; Tawfiq, Xisco, Flea Rock, Hijack, Kowloon, Lil John, Tricky, Toasta, Danilo, Shade, Harrien, Kazuki Roc, Buckshot, Wing Zero, Flexum and Pop were round of 32 qualifiers. In the 3-on-3 battle it was 7Commandoz (Korea) who took first place over Found Carnival (Japan). Gun Smoke Breakers and Last Rock Coast were semifinalists; The Squadron, Double Kill, Polskee Flavor and KHCA were quarterfinalists; Rugged Found Nation Ariya, Shock the World, The Legendary PBoys, The Ruggeds, BB Carnival, East Side BBoys, Hustle Kids and Unstopabulls were round of 16 qualifiers; Queen of Queenz, IT Island, Castor Evolution, Ukraine Bluntz, Silverback Youngbloods, Funky Belgianz, Soul Mavericks, 5 Crew Dynasty, Skill Brat Renegades, Robin & Cheerito, Killafornia, Mafia 13, Flow Mo, DF Zulu, Knucklehead Zoo and Soul Disorders were round of 32 qualfiers.
There was a 2-on-2 Bgirl Battle that was hosted by NoEasyProps and sponsored by BBoyDojo.com. Congratulations to Narumi and Ayumi (Body Carnival) for taking the win.
There was also a 2-on-2 Hip Hop/Freestyle/All Style Dance Battle and a 1-on-1 Popping Battle.

Evolution World Finals NYC, presented by the Pro Breaking Tour and sanctioned by UDEF, took place on Saturday, October 17th, 2015 at Stage 48 in New York, NY (Prelims were held at Queens Community House in Forrest Hills, NY). This Pro Breaking Tour Challenger Series Event organized by Erwin of Bboyworld and MUTA, llc featured a 5-vs-5 bboy/bgirl breaking battle rewarding a total of $10,000 in cash and prizes. This event followed a long line of Evolution battles in the USA and revived a lot of nostalgia for bboys in the north east United States.

The Silverback Open Championships ’15 took place on October 10th and 11th 2015 at the YSC Sports complex outside of Philadelphia as part of the 2015 Pro Breaking Tour’s Champions Series. The event was organized by Silverback Bboy Events and paid $90,150 in cash prize money, plus trips for several winners to the Freestyle Session World Finals in Los Angeles, as well as a trip to compete at Undisputed in Marseille, France for the 1-on-1 Open winner. The 1-on-1 Open and 1-on-1 Bgirl winners also received a Mackie Freeplay Portable PA Speaker with the optional lithium ion battery allowing for 10 hours of continuous music. A panel of seven judged the 1-on-1 Open, the 3-on-3 Open and the 1-on-1 Bgirl with two alternates in case a judge happens to be in the same crew as a competitor. The preliminary battles expanded the judging panel to five judges for each cypher.
Like all competitions, there can only be one first place winner and the Silverback Open Championships had it’s well deserving victors in every category. In the 1-on-1 Open battle, Victor (MF Kidz) took first place over Issei (Found Nation), in the 3-on-3 Open it was 7 Commandoz (Hong10, Wing, Skim) who took first over Polskee Flavor (Kleju, Yarko, Thomas), and for the Bgirls it was Narumi (Body Carnival) over Macca (360 Flava) in the 1-on-1 Bgirl final.
Prize Money Breakdown
1-on-1 Open Prize Distribution: $45,650 Cash + Freestyle Session World Final Round Trip Flight + a trip to compete in the Undisputed in Marseille, France
