Puerto Rock Steady (PRS) is an annual, boutique music and dance festival held in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Founded and presented by Hip-Hop pioneer, Richard “Crazy Legs” Colón of the legendary Rock Steady Crew, the 3-day event brings together dance, music, art, wellness and culture, all amid a picturesque, tropical-island setting. PRS is committed to fostering economic development throughout Puerto Rico by driving tourism, promoting local businesses and generating awareness about the island. The event also partners with Child Of This Culture Foundation—a non-for-profit-corporation for charitable and educational purposes, dedicated to fostering a positive image of Hip Hop through cultural education and research—to actively support local schools and community outreach programs, including the Boys & Girls Club, that empower children through mentoring, education and dance/fitness/wellness workshops. Colón created Puerto Rock Steady in 2013 as a personal effort to help Puerto Rico’s economy. “My goal was, and still is, to create a better situation for my people—even if it’s just by making a small contribution.” Consequently, he invited 100+ industry leaders/friends—DJs, dancers, producers, recording artists—from around the world to Isabela for what could almost be described as a giant group vacation. “Puerto Rock Steady shows people a great time, lets guests experience the culture, the people and the beauty of the island—and at the same time, brings money and leaves it there.”
