The Canada Pro 1vs1 BBoy Championship event presented by Silverback Bboy Events and sanctioned by UDEF took place on Saturday September 20th, 2014 at the Yonge-Dundas Square in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada as a part of the Manifesto Festival 8; a weekend celebration of Art, Dance, Music and Culture with dance competitions and performances by notable hip–hop music artists. This Pro Breaking Tour, Challenger Series event organized by Jon ‘Drops’ Reid featured a 1-on-1 breaking battle for $2,000 and a trip to the Silverback Open Championships in Philadelphia. Judges for the day were Macca (PHL), Toyz (MD), and Vicious (MTL), with the one and only Skeme Richards on the decks laying down the beats for the battle.
It was a beautiful day in the square as Toronto natives gathered around to see the bboys and bgirls battle it out under the sun for a shot at the $1,000 first place prize and trip to Philadelphia. Surrounded by a crowd eager to see a champion emerge, the dancers put their hearts on the floor and showed Toronto what they were made of. As the afternoon went on, it became clear who was out for the win and soon it was down to just two competitors, Onton from Supernaturalz Crew and Switch B from F.A.M. who took to the main stage to see who prove themselves the victor.
After an exciting exchange on the stage, with a sea of spectators looking on, the judges came to choose the funky floor assassin, Switch B as the Canada Pro 1vs1 BBoy Champion, taking home $1,000 and a trip to Philadelphia for the Silverback Open Championships, while Onton, giving it his all walked away with $500 for second place. In 3rd/4th place were Styx and Tricky Troublez who each took home $250.
